Yay! It’s time for the annual Week In The Life project by Ali Edwards. I purchased a kit back in 2015 but never got around to actually doing the project. Since I refuse to let good scrapbooking materials go to waste, I’m going to participate this year.
The album above was originally a 6×8 but I’ve cut it down to 3×8 to help with a lack of space and to make keeping up with the project much easier. I was also able to locate all of the original parts of the album except for a few of wood veneer weekday words because I’ve used them.
To cut down the album, I measured about 5 inches out from the spine of the album and used an industrial box cutter to lightly cut through the chipboard. The reason why I didn’t apply a lot of pressure is because I wanted to keep the front cover of the album in tact. You’ll see why shortly.
On the left hand side here, you’ll notice that I have about an inch of the front cover left. I applied some super glue to the back of it, then along the edge of the chipboard, and folded the cover over. This creates a seamless look to the album. It covers up the jagged edge of the chipboard and makes it look intentional.
Here is the final product. I love the way this looks and makes me even more excited to participate in Week In the Life this year!
